 | Bill Enos Field Dedication |

During Opening Day Ceremonies, Carmichael Girls Softball was proud to dedicate Field 2 as "Bill Enos Field." Bill passed away in late February – but he will live within our hearts and on these fields for as long as they exist. Bill served on the Board of Directors for the past 7 years - leading as President from 2010-2012, coaching his daughters for nearly the past decade, and serving as our mentor, our inspiration, and of course, our friend. As President, Bill's impact on the league and the community as a whole was huge. He led changes that refocused CGS to be more inclusive to more girls, developed strategies that inspired volunteerism and brought passion to improving the girls' environment at Carmichael Park, and proactively partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance to better serve our coaches and ultimately improve each girl's individual experience. Through his work (NDS Solutions), Bill supplied countless resources for the CGS community: shirts, signage, equipment…, and through his countless contacts across Sacramento, inspired donations and sponsorships that raised CGS's standing to a first-class organization. During his time on the board, Bill helped CGS evolve into an organization that families proactively seek out; not just for softball, but for character development, positive attitudes, self-confidence, and meaningful experiences that leave lasting impacts on girls’ lives.
We are proud to continue Bill's legacy in the Carmichael community. |

Carmichael Girls Softball has established a partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to ensure a positive, character-building experience for all CGS Players. PCA (www.PositiveCoach.org), a Stanford University-based non-profit organization, conducts workshops for coaches, organizational leaders, and parents involved in schools and sports organizations serving five-to-18-year-old athletes. PCA also provides workshops for high school athletes.
“Working with hundreds of youth sports organizations around the United States, PCA has developed practical tools and guidelines to help youth athletes, their coaches and parents get the most out of sports,” said Matt Matzke, President of CGS. “We recognize the tremendous opportunity for character-building sports offers our kids, so we want to team-up with PCA’s Double-Goal Coach® model, where winning is one goal but teaching life lessons is the more-important goal.”
“We are delighted to partner with Carmichael Girls Softball,” said PCA Executive Director Jim Thompson. “Together, we’ll strive to help their youth athletes take a positive approach to pursuing victories in athletic competition and in life.”
